Tim Burton and Johnny Depp do Barnabus Collins
On May 11th, Tim Burton's new movie, Dark Shadows, comes to IMAX. The vamped up remake stars Johnny Depp, Helena Bonham Carter, Michelle Pfiefer, and Jackie Haley. Some of the comments that i've seen have bemoaned a lack of faithfulness to the original. I think that it looks great. Besides that, the original was nothing to remake faithfully. Burton and Depp rarely miss. We'll make it one of our first family movie adventures once the gang arrives.

I feel compelled to point out the television Barnabas is watching looks exactly like the television we had when Dark Shadows was on the air. The only thing that would make this completely meta? If I were a vampire. Last time I looked I wasn't.
ReplyDeleteHi Laura, Thanks for reading and sharing. I only remember that I didn't really get Barnabas Collins, but felt like I should. By the time that I was old enough to figure it out, i stopped caring.
