Getting back on the road

cartoonized memory of arriving at Tinago Falls near Iligan City Philippines. It will be good to be home!

Things are falling into place, and the list of random business left to attend to is shrinking quickly. Almost all of the remaining hoops to jump through involve CPS. Kids make the job great, bureaucrats make it hell. Impossible to get the school board or the union to return calls. At some point I'll have some distance and may write about my chicago teaching experience with a slightly lower level of hostility.

Sometime early next week i'll drive to Colorado with a stop in Minneapolis. No real plans except to spend some time with brent and his family in St. Paul. Then on to Colorado with most of my time probably split between nederland, boulder, and denver. here is a partial map of what i have in mind so far. I'll leave from Benton Harbor and drive up the eastern coast of lake michigan, up through the Upper Peninsula and into Wisconsin. From there, across wisconsin into st. paul. I'll need to get out to colorado quickly from there, so not as much meandering.

On the way back, i'll try to do some exploring. after that, back to chicago/michigan for somewhere around 3 weeks, depending on what happens in Colorado. I need to finish up paperwork/planning/packing and then fly out August 27th--arriving August 28 by way of hong kong.

Of course, i'll be handing out resumes along the way, trying to land that elusive dream job that i've heard about. Don't worry department of employment security, something good will come up soon!

ok, hopefully a couple of updates before i leave...peace
